In this article, we give our top 5 GW12 FPL picks and identify which players could return big FPL points.
Before that we need to review the performance of our GW11 FPL picks:
- Aguero: 13 points (1 goal, 2 assists and 3 bonus points)
- Willian: 2 points
- Arnautovic: 12 points (1 goal, 1 assist and 3 bonus points)
- Salah: 2 points
- Sigurdsson: 5 points (1 assist)
A mixed week of points but we hope you got on the Arnautovic bandwagon before his GW11 returns.
Here’s our GW12 picks:
Liverpool face Fulham at Anfield this weekend off the back of their draw against Arsenal in game week 11. Fulham come to Liverpool with the worst away record in the league, conceding 15 goals and 20+ shots per game.
Salah (£13.0m) has 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 matches, and although he hasn’t reached last seasons heights, he is slowly finding his goal scoring form. A home match against Fulham seems the perfect opportunity for Salah to register his first brace of the season. He also provides the perfect captaincy option and we’d expect the Egyptian to score big this weekend.
After Leicester’s devastating week, they were able to bring home the 3 points against Cardiff last weekend. They face Burnley this weekend who are coming into the match off the back of a 4-2 beating by West Ham.
Similar to Fulham, Burnley’s form away from home has been awful, and have in fact conceded the most shots against away from home. Maddison (£6.9m) has come under question in recent weeks for his lack of returns, his last coming back in GW7. We have discussed Maddison’s value in our recent article, and we think that he can be a big points scorer this week.
** After the recent injury news, we have highlighted the best replacements for Maddison, check them out here.**
Hazard (£11.3m) returned from injury last weekend to provide an assist off the bench, helping towards Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Sarri has mentioned his improving fitness and is expected to play a part in Chelsea’s Europa League match as the last part of his recovery.
Everton have been improving under Silva, continuing to impress with their 3-1 victory over Brighton. However, they have only kept 2 clean sheets this season and conceded 15 in those 11 matches. Everton have also struggled to an extent on the road, only winning 1 of their 5 away matches.
Hazard is averaging 3.51 shots per 90 and 3.5 key passes per 90, proving to be a constant goal threat. And with Morata starting to find the net, his assist potential will only improve having a striker in a rich vein of form. We fancy Chelsea to have a tough match this weekend, but think Hazard will once again be the difference.
Ozil hasn’t been in his best form over the past 2 game weeks, blanking in both and coming off early against Palace. Arsenal face Wolves at home this weekend, who were unfortunate not to get anything against Spurs last weekend.
Wolves however have not kept a clean sheet in their last 3, and their defence looks easier to get at for teams. Arsenal have been decent at home, scoring 11 goals in their 6 matches and are unbeaten in the league since GW2.
Ozil’s best two FPL returns both came at home against teams outside of the top 6, and we think this weekend is a game suited for the German. Only selected by 5.8% of managers, he could prove to be a great differential if chasing a mini-league rival.
Sterling has been the man of the week, scoring a brace against Southampton and a wonderful goal in the Champions League. Questions have been asked about his rotation risk but we think his form is too good to ignore, especially against United.
He is City’s leading FPL points scorer, and 2nd top goal scorer (6) behind Aguero (7). Sterling is averaging 2.77 shots per 90 and 2.42 key passes per 90, an insight into his form in front of goal.
United have conceded 10 goals in 6 away league matches this season, only keeping 1 clean sheet in these. City on the other hand are the leading goal scorers at home, averaging 4 goals a match at the Etihad. We don’t think United have the form or defence to contain City and we believe Sterling will be the main threat throughout the match.
Once again thanks for the support and taking the time to read the article, we hope that it has provided some help. Be sure to check out our recent articles, where we have discussed the form of Martial and the essential guide to playing your FPL chips.
